At Aberdeenshire Taekwondo Schools we have had our fair share of good times and bad times (mostly good times though!). Here are some of the most memorable events since the school opened on 1993: | |
1993 November: Jamie Campins 2nd Degree, member of the British TKD team, opened the Ellon Taekwondo School
1994 September: Members of the Ellon Taekwondo School entered their first competition, TKD Sport in Bathgate. July: Mr Campins competed in the 1994 World Championships in Malaysia.
1995 April: Mr Campins becomes ITF European champion for 2nd Degree patterns. April: Mr Campins attends a 3 day seminar with founder of Taekwondo, General Choi Hong Hi, in California, USA.
1996 November: Karl Watson and Kay Cameron become the first two members of the Ellon Taekwondo School to achieve their 1st Degree Black Belt. Mr Campins promotes to 3rd Degree.
1997 July: Kay Cameron becomes Kay Campins
1998 May: Mr Campins opens the Newburgh Taekwondo School. December: Mr Watson and Mrs Campins are both promoted to 2nd Degree. 1999 July: Mr Campins and Mr Watson attend a 3-day seminar with founder of Taekwondo, General Choi Hong Hi, in Edinburgh. August: Mr Campins promoted to 4th Degree International Instructor. 2001 April: Mr Campins takes part in his last competition, the 2001 Irish Open where he wins gold for sparring and special technique. June: ATS opens the first Little Dragons club in Aberdeenshire.
2002 December: Mr Campins promotes to 5th Degree 2003 November: The Ellon Taekwondo School celebrates its 10th anniversary. 2005 June: Mr Campins opens the Fraserburgh Taekwondo School
2006 April: Mr Campins opens the Peterhead Taekwondo School on the 19th of April.
2007 June: Mr Campins promotes to 6th Degree on the 24th of June 2007. Mr Watson promotes to 3rd Degree on the same date. November: Korean Master Kim Ung Chol 8th Degree awards Rico Campins his 9th Kup.
2008 April: The Dyce TKD School opens on the 11th of April. September: Rachael Yuill & Kevin Simpson promote to 2nd Degree December: Dyce TKD School closes.
2009 November: Marco Campins becomes ATS' youngest ever British Champion. December: Mr Willy Wood promotes to 1st Degree Black Belt
2010 January - Mr Willy Wood takes over Peterhead Teakwood School February - Mr Campins opens the first TKD Kickboxing schools in North East Scotland (Ellon & Peterhead). June- First Aberdeenshire Taekwondo Schools TKD Kickboxing championships: Artur Selivanus - Gold Emil Sinuks - Silver Marco Campins - Gold Adam Stewart - Silver Arek Pawlik - Gold Ben Murphy - Silver Rico Campins - Gold Cole Robertson - Silver Cameron Fraser - Gold Brandon Stevenson - Silver
August - Mrs Kay Campins promotes to 3rd Degree (9/8/10). Mr Mark Slesser qualifies as Assistant Instructor by completing ITF Instructor Course (7th - 9th of August) .
